It can be used in a horizontal or vertical position as its located just above eye level and can be easily seen while looking through the viewfinder. Store your settings in the levels internal memory. To extend battery life, Put the level it its power saving mode. And on its own, the camera level will automatically power down after 15 minutes unless you tell it otherwise. You can even erase your settings, returning the unit to its factory settings and start all over. It does much more than a standard bubble level, its accurate and multi functional.
