Backwards Hotshoe - Proprietary Mount!
The reason I didn't buy a Sony DSLR is they make all connections and add-ons proprietary. Want memory, have to use their memory stick. I had that problem when I bought a Sony Clie instead of a Palm Pilot, I didn't want to make that mistake again.
Well it appears Sony has a backwards hot-shoe, the part that's normally on the top of the camera is on the flash, and normal the foot of the flash is on top of the camera. So if you want to know if you're Sunpak flash is level this is perfect, but try mounting on your camera, forget it. The other possibility is someone made a huge mistake while manufacturing this product.
Since I've been looking for a 3-D level for several years I'll keep it and make a standard flash foot with epoxy and a piece of aluminum bar stock; but I won't recommend this product unless you own a Sony DSLR.
